Tuesday, 18 November 2008 |
The Picard Unit Explorer Scouts are at it again! On Saturday 29th November, the Explorers will be bravely taking to a bouncy castle to help raise money for Martin House Hospice and their sponsoring authority's, St Andrew's Church, funds.
As part of the church's coffee morning, they aim to keep at least 3 members continually "on the bounce" for 12 hours. Bouncing starts at 7am, tea and coffee from 9:30 and then the vital supplies aka bacon butties from 10am. Please come and support us if you can at St Andrew's Church, Robin Lane, Pudsey between 7 and 7 - see the explorers and their leaders jump themselves silly for charity. Don't forget your spare change! |

Tuesday, 30 September 2008 |
Pontefract and Castleford Scout Fellowship's Annual County Quiz will take place on Monday 6th October 2008 at Featherstone Methodist Church, Wilson Street, Featherstone, WF7 5BH starting at 8.00 pm.
Teams of up to 6 are invited to take part to try and wrestle the trophy from Shire Oak who have won the event for the last 3 years! It is a fun event but can become fiercely competitive as teams try to better their neighbours! The cost is only £10.00 per team which includes refreshments, so please publicise this event and encourage your Network/Fellowship/District team members to come along. Individuals wanting to take part will be invited to make up an "ad hoc" team or to join in with a smaller one. Expressions of interest will be welcomed as it will enable us to plan the event more efficiently. To get in touch with the event organiser, Dave Owen, click here. |

District Team Changes |
Monday, 01 September 2008 |
Our role of Assistant District Commissioner (ADC) for the scout section has been vacant for some time, with Chris Cohen taking on some of the duties of the position in his former role as District Scout Co-ordinator. However, Chris is now Deputy District Commissioner (Development), so a new ADC scouts had to be found.
We are pleased to announce that Louise and Matthew Murphy have been appointed the new ADCs for scouts. We can also announce that Joyce Griffiths is to take on the role of Appointments secretary later in September.
