Sponsored Bounce-a-thon
The Picard Unit Explorer Scouts are at it again! On Saturday 29th November, the Explorers will be bravely taking to a bouncy castle to help raise money for Martin House Hospice and their sponsoring authority's, St Andrew's Church, funds.
As part of the church's coffee morning, they aim to keep at least 3 members continually "on the bounce" for 12 hours. Bouncing starts at 7am, tea and coffee from 9:30 and then the vital supplies aka bacon butties from 10am.
Please come and support us if you can at St Andrew's Church, Robin Lane, Pudsey between 7 and 7 - see the explorers and their leaders jump themselves silly for charity. Don't forget your spare change!
New Explorer Unit Now Open!
A new Explorer Unit (name to be decided) based at St Thomas' Church Hall in Stanningley is now up and running. It runs each 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month between 8pm and 9:30pm. A partnership agreement is in place between the unit and the 1st Stanningley group. The Explorer Scout Leader is Alan Page and if you are interested, please get in touch with Ian Page, DESC (District Explorer Scout Commissioner), by clicking here.
District Team Changes
As of 1st April, Christine Marshall is standing down as DESC (District Explorer Scout Commissioner). Thanks to Christine for all her hard work over the last busy year. Taking over the reigns is Ian Page, who takes up the role with immediate effect. Ian is a former ADC in the Leeds Templars District and many people will already know him from the county centenary camp, Tree Stomp, or canoeing at Aldwark Activity Centre. Ian can be contacted by clicking here.
February 2008 Shooting & Archery Competition
After an eventful day of shooting and archery at st Bart's Church Hall with judges Jeff Keeton, Josh Robinson (shooting), Susan Heritage, Catherine Reid and Colin Goodall (archery), we can now announce the results of each...
There were not enough Explorers entered to put into teams and due to child protection issues we can only publish young people's first names.
