West Leeds celebrated the centenary of Scouting with a packed diary of events and challenges for everyone: the Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorers and adults.
Together we camped, hiked, cycled, sailed, experienced outer space, medieval times, wild west, had a sunrise ceremony at the same time as all other Scouts around the world, enjoyed a family day out, travelled through time and learned about the history of our Groups and that of Scouting in other Countries. We challenged ourselves in sectional competitions and 100 challenges - all counting towards our District centenary camp badge.
We raised money for Martin House Hospice by cycling around Harewood hill climb course and raised the publicity of Scouting in West Leeds by having a commemorative flower bed in a local park. Members of the District went to and visited the 21st World Scout Jamboree and one scout went to Brownsea Island on the Patrol Leader camp and took part in the national Live 07 event at the O2 Dome in London.
